The Wedding Landy: Blazing Swords

It is not often that Lady T finds herself surrounded by people carrying swords! At a military wedding, however, it is all part of the occasion…

In September, The Wedding Landy joined B&J in the quaint Norfolk village of Raynham, near Fakenham. Raynham can trace its history back to the Domesday Survey of 1086 and was once home to RAF West Raynham.

For a village with a population of around 241, having two churches is rather impressive — although, as one now stands in ruins, we are not entirely sure that it still counts!

B&J’s ceremony was held in the beautiful St Mary’s Church. With its traditional surroundings and unmistakable village charm, it provided a wonderful setting for the couple to exchange their vows.

As the church bells rang out loud and clear, the newlyweds emerged to a magnificent military guard of honour. Lady T waited nearby as the couple passed beneath the raised swords, surrounded by cheers, smiles and plenty of celebration.

The newlyweds then climbed aboard Lady T and continued to The Great Barn at Manor Mews, ready to celebrate with their family and friends.

The evening brought everyone together for a wonderfully lively ceilidh, led by the talented Whirligigs. With dancing, laughter and plenty of memorable moments, it was the perfect way to continue such a joyful day.
