The Wedding Landy: Top Hats & Tails
On a sunny August morning, with wonderfully dramatic clouds creeping across the sky, Lady T left her Norwich headquarters and made her way to Fowlmere.
This pretty village sits on the southern edge of Cambridgeshire, near Royston and within easy reach of the National Trust’s Wimpole Estate, the Imperial War Museum at Duxford and Cambridge itself.
Before long, Lady T arrived at the family home to be greeted by a chorus of laughter and excitement as the bridal party prepared for the day ahead.
Tony, our driver, first welcomed eight Bridesmaids and the Mother of the Bride aboard Lady T. They then returned to collect the Bride and her Father for their very special journey to St Mary’s Church.
If the sky was a photographer’s delight, the church was every bit as impressive. Dating back to the 12th century, St Mary’s is a beautiful flint church with a five-bell tower and an abundance of historic character.
As the bridal party made their way up the steps and into the church, a little crowd began to gather outside, ready to catch a glimpse of the newlyweds. Following the ceremony, family, friends and onlookers cheered as the happy couple emerged together.
Waiting nearby was Lady T, dressed for the occasion in vivid fuchsia ribbons and bows. The newlyweds climbed aboard, waving to their guests as they set off through the countryside towards The Barn at Alswick.
With its warm, characterful surroundings, The Barn provided a wonderful setting for the celebrations to continue. The couple welcomed their guests and enjoyed the beginning of married life surrounded by friends, family and plenty of happiness.
Every part of the day was beautifully captured by Joshua Andrew Potter Photography, from the anticipation at the family home to the church ceremony and the celebrations that followed.
